My Freedom

My freedom is not physical, hence the Indian act, my freedom is spiritual, hence my ancestors, for I call upon their strength and guidance to help plan and lay out my future, the future of my family, my people and the human race.  My freedom is at the hands of my creator, for I am here to protect what was created, the mother of all life, MOTHER EARTH.    Peter Leech 2012

Our Mother is in a lot of Pain

When we look around, and look at the world we live in, "OUR MOTHER EARTH" is in a lot of pain. Pain that has been brought on by the Human Race. The air she breaths is getting unhealthier by the day, the water she drinks is undrinkable in many parts of the world, and she is being raped over and over again, for the substance of her well-being. Oh, my Mother Earth I apologize for my fellow human race, but they just cannot see, hear or understand your pain. I ask all the Mothers of the World, help me, help us, bring comfort to our Mother's Pain.   Peter Leech 2012

The Strategist

A strategist must keep a clear mind. For the strategist must know himself and his foe. But that is asking for the impossible. For irrational men kill and rational men kill greater. It is like asking a gnat to stay still. Because mankind cannot calm his mind. We are born to solve, but how do we solve a problem with no solution. We train for our enemy and we train for ourselves, but only physically. For we are but men lost amidst the fog. We do not train to be lost for we must know. We do not train to kill but we must. We do not train for fear, because we do not know how. We must be clear of mind before we face a foe. Then we will be like the gnat that stays still. For we will be men that can see amidst the fog. For how can we fight anything if we cannot face ourselves.

Passing of Walter Leech on July 28, 2011

Sorry for the delayed response to this message, it has been tough on the Halaw Group team, but the Halaw Group team lost a valuable member of its team, our Spiritual and Cultural advisor. It is with extreme sadness to express the passing of Walter Leech on July 28, 2011, after his long 12 year battle with Cancer, he was a great Father, Husband and Friend of Halaw Group, his inspiration will surely be missed. But as per his wish, we must carry on, to help create the attitude, I will change, I will change, for it starts with ourselves first, we must change our attitude, to help change the world for the better, this is the gift that Walter Leech gave all of us, and we are forever grateful. Love always and love forever the entire Halaw Group Team.

The biggest Free Trade Deal Since NAFTA, which has been very much a Ghost issue of the 2011 Canadian Federal Election. Big negotiated deals being done behind closed doors, typical politics, tell the public after the fact. What makes this even more important, that it is not even being discussed during the Federal campaign process of the 2011 Canadian Federal Elections, we must all ask the Federal Parties and their Leaders, why this not an important issue during this campaign. As a First Nations person, I would find this appalling, but then I would be used to it. For the lives of First Nations people have always been addressed behind closed doors.
